When Academy Meets a Unicorn: An Event with BioCatch
Tel Aviv University Alumni attended an introductory meeting with BioCatch Israel, which became a unicorn in October 2023. The alumni participated in an unmediated meeting with the company’s CEO, Gadi Mazor, an alum of Sackler Faculty of Exact Sciences at Tel Aviv University.
Gadi Mazor, an alum of Sackler Faculty of Exact Sciences at Tel Aviv University, spoke about the company and its global partners and exposed the university’s alumni to data and Behind-The-Scene stories. Tomer Segall, Data Science Team Leader at BioCatch and an alum of Fleischman Faculty of Engineering at Tel Aviv University, expanded on how the company works in the face of the challenges that exist in the world today in the field of financial fraud and challenged the audience to see if they would be able to spot fraud based on the data he shared.

Sigalit Ben Hayoun, Head of the Tel Aviv University Alumni Organization, mentioned, "We in the organization make our best efforts to strengthen the connection between academia and industry and hold unique events of this type throughout the year. After a very successful event that took place in Microsoft earlier this year, we held another meeting yesterday at BioCatch, and similar meetings are planned at other companies in the future. The university’s alumni showed great interest, asked challenging questions, and were fascinated by the company’s roaring success worldwide”.
